Crashlytics down and so many iOS Apps are crashing in the world – Reason is Facebook SDK

Today, I just wake up and showing some twitter threads saying that the Crashlytics crash reporting is down due to a popular iOS SDK.

Here what Crashlytics itself is saying about this:

Here you can check Firebase Crashlytics status:

Description: Due to a significant increase in crashes across the iOS ecosystem, caused by an issue with a popular iOS SDK, iOS crash processing in Firebase Crashlytics was disabled by Wednesday, 2020-05-06 04:00 PM US/Pacific.

Crashlytics is now processing 40% of iOS Crashes due to an ongoing incident. We won’t increase the percentage of traffic beyond 40% today. We are actively working to return processing to normal.

We will provide another update by Friday, 2020-05-08 07:00 US/Pacific

Diagnosis: Customers impacted by this will not see iOS crashes starting at Wednesday, 2020-05-06 04:00 PM US/Pacific on the dashboard.

Workaround: None at this time.
